Recently come to light photographs of:Holt Street
Recently I have been fortunate enough to have had access to the archive of the late Aubrey Sutton, a Nonington born man with an interest in local history whose father harvested the last crop to be grown on the site of Snowdown Colliery. The archive contains hundred of slides, photographs and news-paper cuttings concerning Nonington and extends back into the late 19th century. I hope to include many of the items from the archive into both new and existing articles on this site. Here are just some of the pictures from the archive:-

Denise, there aren’t really any houses in Butter Street. There is a cottage on the junction of Butter St. and Church St., see http://www.nonington.org.uk/the-old-manors-of-nonington/the-knights-templar-and-knights-of-st-john/
and one opposite Holt St., Farm House at the junction of Butter Street and Holt St. which I do not have any photos of but if you look on the Google map you will see it. I don’t have any pictures of the Folwell’s, it’s not a family name ‘m familiar with.

Hi, I have previously emailed regarding my family history, but wondered if you have any photographs of where they lived. The family are the Folwell’s from Butter Street and it would be lovely to find some pictures of the houses and family.
